El Banquete - Midland

I went to this place because a worker recommended me. These enchiladas are brilliant, the red sauce gives to the taste that you can only find in some places! I'm not from here and I always give feedback to places that can earn it, and that's what it does! If they replace this TEX MEX cheese for a Queso Fresco, it will be even better! I forgot the name of the meal, but I will update this comment when I visit the place for the second time.

Wonderful as usual. Had the Thomas Teller. Excellent beef Enchilada, Taco and a large Chili Relleno. The salsa is great, but take a little bite if you don't like sharp to try it before you dive. Just for me!

Came here for breakfast only, breakfast burrito eggs and bacon is good, decent size for one person. The atmosphere is nice, a little dark inside and a nice smell, reminds me how churches smell in Mexico. Ladies bathroom is decent, men restroom isn't that good, toilet area and ceiling need to be replace or fix, place needs a little more maintenance but other than that food is good, green salsa and chips very good too. Looking forward to go back.

We visit Midland every so often and decided to try a different restaurant. The waitress wasn't the friendliest (neither were the other staff members) but the service was fairly fast. I ordered a water since I don't really drink much with my meals, I was brought a bottled water. And we were charged for it, if I wanted bottled water I would have asked for it. I ordered cheese enchiladas, but I can't and don't eat spicy food so I asked the waitress which sauce was the least spicy. She said she didn't know but they could do half and half sauces on the enchiladas. My husband a plate which said it came with a scoop of guacamole. He almost wasn't surprised when the plate barely had any guacamole. So he ordered a side of guacamole, we got that and it had more lettuce than avocado. My enchiladas were so spicy I could barely eat or enjoy them. I feel like I'm Mexican restaurants children tend to order enchiladas but these are not for kids. These are for people who only like to taste chile and not their food. In no way did we enjoy our meal. We definitely won't be going back there. Oh also the outside of the restaurant is just disgusting they should really do some cleaning. And when we first walked in I could not even tell if it was an Italian or Mexican restaurant. I was definitely confused lol because I could have sworn we were walking into a Mexican restaurant.

I wanted to check this place for a while. This is the best place to eat in Midland or Odessa. You've met this place for lunch since 2013 and never had a bad meal, no matter how busy the place is. I understand what is special and enjoy it every time. The red/green combo enchiladas are my favorites, but the tacos and Rellanos are just as great. Pros: Food is served hot, servings are generous, free dessert with meal, and finally the service is excellent, especially if it is a midland restaurant. Cons: Open for breakfast and lunch only. Disclaimer: The food has some heat. The salsa has above all this shiny heat, where it is not so spicy on the tongue, but finally, if you eat a whole cup of it, you can feel yourself as if you were maced. The menu food is not overwhelmingly spicy, but if you have a delicate palate, you can want to order accordingly.
