Mom brought me here for my birthday lunch. Fantastic service and great variety of Vietnamese and Chinese cuisines. I had an order of Bánh Bôt Loc (Vietnamese shrimp and pork dumplings) that were to die for! These alone are reason enough to go back. I also had their hot and sour soup (which I MUST try at every restaurant that offers it) which was better than average, but lacked the strips of pork I have come to enjoy in that variety. Mom enjoyed her order of Happy Family and cream cheese wontons. We had a couple plum wines to wash everything down with, which unfortunately tasted as though the bottle had been open for awhile and maybe not the best quality (more sugary than usual). Also unfortunately, the atmosphere doesn't match the cuisine. It's a bit too basic for the great quality of food they serve and the prices they charge. That aside, we were mostly pleased with our experience here. I live in Aurora, which is a bit of a drive to this restaurant, but I definitely want to go back and try more of the several varieties of dumplings they offer.
We've been going here since about 1992 I love it never disappointed the girls there are friendly and quick...food is always fresh. You want great authentic Chinese food dont skip out on this place.
Wanted to call out that this restaurant is not the original china Jade. I believe it was bought out and renamed to Pho Dong but they kept the name to bring old customers in. We were craving authentic Chinese dimsum but most of it was inedible. The wontons had freezer burn, roasted duck tasted old, rice crepe noodles were thick, sticky rice was not fully cooked, and we found hair in 2 dishes.
Not bad. Above 3 was a year ago. Today it is changed to Vietnamese Chinese restaurant with Vietnamese name, and small print of China Jade still existing on the front window. The food is worst. Most of the dimsum comes out just slightly warm or inedible due to not fully cooked to the flavour. More like frozen, then steamed to warm up. If the owner takes time to read the reviews the last 10 months ever since they took over, it is time to re-evaluate your kitchen staffs. What is the point of not listening to your customers feedback...?
