Hat's Restaurant - Medicine Hat

Just picked up dinner from Hat's tonight. I can't wait to dig in. The food is truly authentic and the employees are the friendliest. You don't have to worry about them understanding your order over the phone. I was planning on taking pictures of the food, but it smelled too good to resist. We ordered three almond chicken dishes, one of Hat's many masterpieces. The ginger beef is another standout, nobody else makes it better. The beef and broccoli was very good, with superb veggies and tasty beef. If you're looking for true flavor, try Hat's own fried rice. You can taste the decades of mastery in every bite. However, the chicken and beef rices were ordinary, almost lacking in comparison. Avoid the chicken mushroom rice though, as the mushrooms were underdone. Stick with the chef's special Hat Special Fried Rice and save the beef or chicken for the kids. Hat's is the best restaurant in town, offering consistency and authentic Chinese cuisine. They are great at communication and provide excellent service. The smorgasbord option is also good and cheaper, available every day until 8pm. Hat's may not be cheap, but they are worth every penny. Overall, expect to spend around $75 for a meal for 2-3 people. If you pick up your order, you get 10% off. Hat's is not just the best Chinese restaurant in town, but the best restaurant overall.

I hadn't been to Hat's in over 10 years, but they are just as good, if not better. They are authentic Chinese but can understand our Alberta accent. The communication is excellent. Make sure to order dishes individually for the best experience. The smorgasbord is also a good option and is cheaper, available until 8pm daily. Hat's is not cheap, but the quality and speed are worth it. Expect to spend around $75 for two or three people. Pick up your order for a 10% discount. Hat's isn't just the best Chinese in town, it's the best restaurant in town.
