Be sure to specify vegan so they leave fish sauce out. It wasn't the best I've ever had but enjoyable. It was a little sweet for me but still tasty. For dessert, we had mango sticky rice. The mango was nicely ripened and the rice was warm. Very nice. Overall, service was great, atmosphere was comfortable and food very good. I will bring my family here again when visiting. Great authentic Thai cuisine! The Fairy Tail Shrimp with honey-lemon sauce was new to me and will be repeated. Also tasted Drunken Noodles and Tamarind Duck. Everything was delicious. Nine of us piled in for dinner and the server didn't miss a beat. Great food. Great staff. We'll be back!
This was a 5:30 pm dinner for two on a Saturday. It was our first time visiting Basil Leaf. It was moderately busy and service was friendly and prompt. My friend and I both had the Tom Yum Goong soup. It was okay but could have been more lemon grass flavor. The two shrimp in the soup were fresh and tasty. For the main course my friend ordered One of the Classics, Cashew nuts with beef. I opted for a Chef?s Special, Seafood Delight. It is a combo of seafood shrimp, scallops, squid) in a brown sauce and crispy, fresh vegetables with a side of white rice. The veggies were excellent and so were the 4 shrimp and 2 scallops. There was too much squid which was rubbery and not easy to chew. There was no choice of brown rice to replace the standard white. Brown rice would be a good choice to offer, as millions suffer from diabetes and white rice is not a good choice but brown rice is! Overall it was a nice dinner. I loved the designs on the walls and the cheerful front of this Thai Cafe/Restaurant Here are some pics and the Menu!
Super nice staff with a lovely atmosphere. I tried their mango bubble tea and loved it.
What a wonderful experience! This small, modest restaurant packs a mighty punch! Our party of four were en route from Missouri to NYC and spending the Sunday night in Mechanicsburg. So many restaurants were closed on Sunday that I was very worried we would a decent place for dinner. WE FOUND A FANTASTIC ONE! Summer rolls, Brussels Sprout salad, Pork Pad Thai, and a cashew/fried tofu dish...all outstanding! Food was so good that we had to try dessert. Thai donuts and mango with sticky rice, also wonderful! But as great as the food was, the service was attentive, helpful, friendly, and so warm and welcoming. THANK YOU SO MUCH for such a memorable evening! Looking forward for our next opportunity to try more items from the menu....
