El Mejor Mexican Kitchen Cantina

First time for my wife and I. Very nice decor. Staff was friendly. The margaritas we ordered were not good, just bland tasting. We had to send them back. They were nice enough to accommodate us and they made a special margarita for my wife, on the rocks that was too strong. She prefers them frozen. I went with Dos XX with a lime. My wife ordered shrimp tacos and they were good. I went with beef enchiladas with a sour cream sauce. Now, my expectation was I would be getting strips of beef like fajita beef. No, I received ground beef. It was okay, but read the menu carefully and choose wisely. They have lomo saltado beef and fajita beef enchiladas. Order those if you're going with beef.

El Mejor if I'm not mistaken means the best translated. I would have to agree, it was one of the best I've ever had. The chips were just like I prefer them. Light and dusted with a little salt. The salsa was fresh with just the right amount of heat. The brisket queso was so good, I want to go there right now for dinner as I'm writing this review. Lol I made a mis step and ordered the chicken sandwich. It was 6 out of 10 stars. I should have ordered the fish Tacos. I bet there so good. Lastly the Tres Leches Cake is a must...its exceptionally good:

The food was delicious however I had problem with how clean the restaurant was specifically ladies room. I couldn?t enjoy the food after found hair on my dish.

Had brunch here today for the first time and it might be my new favorite place! Chips and salsa are a make it or break it for me at any Mexican restaurant and this place did not disappoint! I had the breakfast tacos with sausage which was delicious. We had a pitcher of sangria (20% off on the weekend) and the manager shared the yummy recipe with us! The staff was attentive and appreciative of our business. Great experience, great food and the location on the McKinney square is perfect!

El Major is a terrific Mexican food restaurant, less than a block off the square, in McKinney, TX. Their food is fantastic. We ordered their guacamole for our appetizer. It was so fresh and delicious! I ordered the cheese chile relleno. It was terrific! In fact they give you two of them! Hello lunch tomorrow! As a vegetarian, usually there aren?t any beans that are vegetarian, but here, they offer vegetarian black beans, which is much appreciated. One of their sides is fresh sautéed veggies and those were really yummy, too! Go check this place out! It?s reallllly good! Sorry, I didn?t take any photos of the food. We gobbled it up too fast! Lol 8/21/22 update?We ate here again and it was delicious! After finishing our meal, we were walking back to our car. We had turned the corner and we?re out of site of the restaurant. Suddenly, we heard someone running after us?it was our very attentive server, Annalee. My husband had left his credit card. We couldn?t believe that she had caught up with us. We appreciate you so much, Annalee! You are one in a million. Give this young lady a raise!! Thank you again, Annalee!??
