I like Chick-fil-a but the one in Bethel has lost my 9 years of regular business because of Ruth. Here is what happened:I have been a customer of this place for years. The only reason is because the local schools always sell a coupon. If you purchase a large fry and large drink, you get a free Chick- fil-a sandwich, which is priced at $4.95. What I have done for the past 9 years, that's when I started working in the area, is purchase the large fry and drink, and then I buy the Deluxe sandwich, priced at $6.95, and they take off the $4.95 for the standard Chick-fil-a sandwich that the coupon says you get free. I get the sandwich I like and restaurant makes a sale that they otherwise wouldn't have. I haven't been in a couple weeks and today was told they could no longer do that deal and if I want to use the coupon, I have to eat the regular sandwich. I asked why and explained that I am actually spending more money and not taking advantage in any way. The manager didn't know why so she got the owner, Ms. Ruth. She looked like a sweet grandmother so I instantly thought, she will tell the employees they are mistaken because logically not accepting this makes zero sense. She looked at me stone faced and said she will not accept coupons from people cheating and trying to use the coupon multiple times a day (which actually is OK to do according to the coupon but I have never done or trying to upsize their meal. I tried explaining to her that I am paying for the difference and it benefits us both but she cut me off and said that the coupons are more trouble than they are worth and she is only going to do exactly what the coupon states, and if that means less business than it is less business from people with coupons. (Not a sweet lady. I tried telling her that I have bought these coupons to help the school for the sole reason that chick-fil-a is on there and that I wouldn't even come to her restaurant without it. She replied with she is glad I was able to use the coupon all these years but I won't anymore. My take is that she is located in Bethel so has guaranteed business from students and isn't too concerned with her non-school customers. She doesn't need us when she has all the business she can handle from the school. She basically told me that. I paid for my meal today. $14. It is $11 with the coupon. I'm sure a healthy profit margin still but Ruth would rather turn business away than mess with it. So turn business away she has. I won't be back.
The manager was rude when I inquired about waiting more than 5 min just for 12 piece.
This location is not set up to take chick fil a gift cards.
I need to update the hours they close at 8 now instead of 9
Always a treat visiting this chick fil a. You wouldn't think there would be one in McKenzie of all places. The food is always served hot and fresh. Facility is kept clean and tidy. Workers are friendly. The location is stuffed in a Bethel building, but that doesn't stop the place from being a hit with locals.
