Good musique, good food, good people. the only place in martigues where you can really eat!
The environment is very welcoming, staff very friendly and helpful, well spoken English, wein and beer delicious, but that is where it ended for me. a few appetizers ordered, the broth was industrial and frozen, the salat was nothing more than a sweet-up salad with some drops of a superpowerful dressing, a few small tomato places, I would expect much more to wall from a restaurant with this price range. the seafood may be beautiful, it has not even tried to judge the bad quality and the small size of the appetizers, where the is even frozen, I was not inspired at all to order or return something else. I would characterize it more than a beautiful tourist trap than a real local culinary experience. there are much better local restaurants with lower trips not too far away, the restaurant decoration is much more attractive than the teller they get.
Le Quai des Pirates is a locally sourced fresh sea food (except the prawns) counter and restaurant. Pleasantly located approximately metres from the port. Martigues is known as the La Provençale Venise (Provincial Venice) set within a sheltered picturesque Mediterranean cove Le Plateau Degustation (seafood platter) is a selection is raw mussels, raw oysters, cooked sea snails and prawns with a selection of mayonnaise sauces. Presented in a slightly corny ship styled platter filled with crushed ice to keep the food chilled. Alternatively, the less substantial La Salade Poulpe (Squid salad) may be more preferable if you want a smaller meal. Whilst the serving of squid is small it is dressed in a delicate white sauce accompanied by a small salad with a typical provincial vinaigrette.
Very good food. friendly staff
