The waitstaff were fantastic, and the dishes were well-prepared with generous portions. I particularly enjoyed the spaghetti with meat sauce, and the meatballs were cooked to perfection. The pizza was also a favorite among many patrons. My only complaint would be the antipasto salad; it lacked variety and excitement, consisting mainly of basic iceberg lettuce and some meat without any olives or interesting vegetables. In terms of pricing, it is on par with other options in the beautiful city.
Authentic immigrant Italian cuisine in a delightful atmosphere! The service is exceptional, and the entire experience is set in a charming, timeless ambiance. Highly recommend!
The atmosphere felt a bit off, but overall it was a positive experience. I really appreciate local restaurants more than chains like Culver's, Applebee's, or Red Lobster, which have a better vibe. I enjoyed my meal—good thin crust pizza and delicious garlic bread!
I understand. everyone wants to eat in the city and wait an hour to be packed in a corner. we have. but if they are ready to go to the hill, they can eat walkable seating with great service and good Italian American comfort. it will not reinvent the eating, but they will leave happy while other city still waiting for a table
We decided to give Villa Capri a try when we passed through Marquette in our way to Pictured Rocks, and we loved it. We like good Italian food, and this cozy, nicely decorated restaurant exceeded our expectations. The food is obviously homemade with great care. The tomato sauce is delicately seasoned and the cheese raviolis that I enjoyed were a delight. I also had the minestrone soup, which was changed chock full of vegetables in a savory, rich base. The garlic bread is outstanding and the tasteful Italian music playing in the background provides a lovely lift. My husband had a thin crust pizza and remarked that it was the best he has ever tasted. We shared a rice pudding for dessert, and it was fresh, creamy, and subtly flavored with cinnamon and whipped cream. It was not overly full of sugar like some bad desserts, you could taste the ingredients. The service was excellent and the ambience is friendly and relaxed. I wish we lived closer to Villa Capri so we could dine there more often.
