Luckily, we arrived at the perfect time when a table opened up, as they were turning away other customers. The Sunday lunch menu offers a selection of roast dinners, and we chose the beef which cost just under £9 per person. Despite the crowds, the food came out quickly and was hot and delicious. It was the best roast beef dinner I've had since my Mum's homemade version. Overall, it was a great experience and definitely worth a visit.
I arrived at this restaurant around 1pm on a Friday, after exploring the sights in Avery. We stumbled upon this place accidentally, but decided to come in since we were hungry and on our way to Stonehenge. The pub was busy, with a waiting time of 20 minutes for a party of 4 ahead of us. The crowded pub reassured me that it would be worth the wait. Our table ordered 2 chicken Caesar salads and 2 steak sandwiches. The salad was fresh with crispy bacon and moist chicken, while the steak sandwich was tender and flavorful, served with sautéed mushrooms and onions on focaccia bread. The prices were reasonable, but the service was slow. It took over 30 minutes for the table seated before us to receive their order, which seemed inefficient. Despite the wait, the food was fresh and tasty, and the service was friendly. The decor with Seabiscuit paraphernalia added an interesting touch to the dining experience.
