As travelers, we are often taken advantage of due to limited options. 1958 is one of the last restaurants you will encounter in the Auckland International Departures area. It has more of a bar vibe than a traditional restaurant, but I was pleasantly surprised when my order of Fish and Chips arrived perfectly cooked. The fish was fresh and crispy, the fries were seasoned well, and the salad was vibrant with peas, lemon, and tartare sauce. It was a dream come true for any lover of Fish and Chips. The dining area was stylishly decorated and had plenty of power outlets for charging devices, as well as a great view of the airport and planes. The service was friendly and efficient. As someone who doesn't have lounge access, I have found a new favorite spot to visit the next time I fly out of Auckland.
I have never had a negative experience at this restaurant. It is always a great place to have a quick beer while waiting for your flight. It is conveniently located near most gates, but I do wish they had a bigger selection of tap beers.
