Taberna Mata Hambre - Málaga

This is a more modern restaurant and is very reasonably priced. They serve lovely wine too. We had lunch one day and the food was superb and so we decided to go back on an evening and the food was nice but not as good and did not appear to be as freshly cooked. It was very busy on both occasions and was being used by the locals, always a good sign, the service was ok but the staff were miserable. I would eat there again though and would recommend it despite the miserable staff,as the menu has a good selection and it is quick by Malaga standards and it was reasonable

Brilliant and outstanding tapas on the pavement of a central road now closed to all traffic. An enervating setting with the most beautiful carousel at the end of the street. The local authorities deserve to be congratulated. But all spoiled by surly and reluctant service.

We ate here last Friday night. It was very busy and clearly popular with locals. Food was nice, reasonably priced but service was poor. We had to constantly ask for our order, It came out at different times so members of the group had finished before others had started. Our main server was polite but too busy and his female accomplice was the rudest waitress I have ever had the misfortune to come across. She is in the wrong job. She should not be anywhere that needs a smile or any level of politeness or customer service. Taberna Mata Hambre would be a better place without her. She was working the area at the top of the stairs, be warned!

This place is hopping! Right in the centre core of all the action… we had a table outside in a courtyard. Good food and beautiful tapas presentation. A superb first dinner in Spain.

Reconozco que por mucho tiempo no he cenado tan bien, nos sentamos en busca de paz y el lugar es hermoso. no como la carne así que pedí este plato y fue perfecto! ¡Me encantó! y algo muy importante el tratamiento de la camarera, nos trataron dos y uno de ellos era yo creo que el que estaba a cargo. tanto agradable como muy cerca de todo. Hace años que no los conozco. No he cenado en esa zona. Volveré. ¡Gracias!
