Mug & Anchor Pub - Mahone Bay

Our first visit to Mahone Bay from the US and as fans of Curse of Oak Island, a beer at Mug Anchor was a must. Evan provided quick and friendly service and talked with us about the TV show personalities who often film inside the pub. The Stiegl was cold and refreshing.

We went here to have a meal after spending in in Lunenburg and were terribly disappointed. We arrive, expecting because of google reviews to find certain menu items only to learn that they don't have them. We were then ignored for a good 20 minutes until we walked out and went somewhere else. The restaurant was not clean and during our time there, nobody received food...nobody. The staff were completely overwhelmed.

Great location in Mahone Bay. Food is delicious, reasonably priced, and patio view is great! We were traveling with our dog this trip and we were able to sit outside at the picnic tables by the main street. We could order our food in take out containers and canned beverages and still eat right there with the dog. Table service would have been nice, but we were fine with the option of a table right outside. Love this restaurant!

The service and food were excellent . Second time having chowder and it was fantastic . Not very creamy . They also had a lovely Cobb salad. My partner absolutely loved the mussels. My sister in laws clubhouse sandwich had white meat which was lovely .

I really enjoy the ambiance at this restaurant, it feels like a step back in time every time I visit. The patio offers a spectacular view over the bay! The fish and chips are delicious, with a satisfying texture and always served hot, never soggy. The beer-battered onion rings make a great side dish for any meal, especially when paired with an English Ale from Hell Bay Brewing Co. Overall, a great dining experience.
