Host kept us updated and apologized that the kitchen was backed up — lack of staff is the norm now— Our server was cheerful and attentive. First time having a culotte steak. it was excellent. Maryland crab cakes were delicious. if you like Brussel sprouts yum. decor was fresh and elegant but not pretentious.
I have dined in many steakhouses across the world. I have never had a steak that tasted like a pound of salt as served at this restaurant. Obvious other reviews that give this restaurant a 5 star love food with allot of salt. Even the mashed potatoes were full of salt. Worst steak ever in my book. Never will return.
We've eaten at some of the best steakhouses in the US and Europe...the steaks here ranks right up there alongside them. Full of flavor, cooked to perfection, juicy and tender highest quality cuts. The sides are seasonally fresh and wonderful. There is a solid drink selection and the menu is diverse. Service is friendly and efficient. Note i am basing this review on several trips, not just a single experience, which lends to the consistency in excellence found here. This restaurant is a gold mine!
Wow! This is the nicest restaurant in Toombs County, hands down! The food is to die for. For your appetizer, go with the truffle fries, tuna sashimi, or pork belly (these are my faves, but the others are excellent too . For your entree, the elk is so flavorful, the pork kabobs are amazing, and the coulotte is a great choice if you want a steak. If you like crab cake, definitely get one here--it is more crab and less cake! There's even a surf and turf option with a crab cake and a small steak. As far as dessert goes, they always have creme brûlée and Black Forest cake, and they also have a rotating menu of seasonal cakes. They even have a very affordable and tasty kids menu. If you like wine, they have an excellent wine list. The service is top notch--if you hang around until things slow down a bit, you may get a tour from the restaurant owner, Tony, or his wife, Connie. The restaurant is located in what used to be a bank, so the tour is pretty fascinating (the historic vault is now a wine vault! . The bar tenders, Dave and Haley, and servers (Amanda and Hunter are awesome! make you feel like you're at home. I just can't say enough about this place--definitely go and check it out for yourself!
I have been to many steakhouses and just happen to drop into this quaint little town and saw this neat building. Went in, very nicely decorated, server was awesome. Food was the best I have had. Filet mignon melted in my mouth, wife had shrimp and grits that was awesome. I will drop back by there again, Very good food.
