I still paid and management did not care. No one cares I know, however I will never step into this dump again. Hope a real review helps someone. If you want to leave disappointed and hungry this is the placeWent straight to Henry's and had a wonderful mealThis is not a plug for themJust a fact. Nice response. Not pure or real. We will never come back after 20 years of being a customer. I stand with the truth!! Good luck! And good bye.
Excellent restaurantThis Loveland Restaurant has stood up to the charging time's. All the growth and it still is a treasure! It's a well known Loveland Restaurant. Been here a Long Time.Excellent steaks, (no need for A1). Baked potato was cooked to perfection. The chef's know how to prepare food to perfection and presentation. Our waitress, Naomi was super delightful and attentive!Keep up the amazing work.
I went here with my girlfriend. She got a margarita and I had an old fashioned. Both were very good and gave me hope for the rest of the meal. We ordered the calamari and it was disappointing. The sauce it came with does not pair well with calamari, and the calamari itself was extremely mild in flavor and too chewy. The Olive Garden has better calamari and it 's not close. We both ordered the pepper steak (the menu says it 's their specialty). My girlfriend ordered it well done and I ordered it medium. Hers was cooked well and tasted great. It was tender and, while cooked way more than I would order, delicious. My steak was cooked very rare and was chewy, to the point where I couldn 't finish it. It was almost like steak-flavored bubble gum. The seasoning was good but it seems like it was either a bad cut of meat that was cooked poorly, or it was just cooked very poorly. My girlfriend ordered broccoli on the side and it was tasty and tender. I got mashed potatoes with brown gravy on the side, and the gravy tasted like it came from a can. The mashed potatoes were fine but fairly flavorless. The only real flavor came from the gravy and the gravy was worse than I would expect from a local restaurant. We ordered dessert to go and the dessert was delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive. However, it seemed like most of the staff weren 't happy to be there. The atmosphere was weird. It 's like they couldn 't decide on a vibe for the restaurant and just threw everything together. It 's part steakhouse, part fine-dining, and part cafeteria (the plates are weird plastic and metal trays).All-in-all, The Black Steer feels like a restaurant from Kitchen Nightmares, where they boast about how great the restaurant is on the outside, but the inside is a very different story. It feels like the type of restaurant where the owner is clinging to the past and refuses to listen to reviews or their staff 's feedback.I think there 's a lot of promise in this restaurant but it needs a serious overhaul. It needs all local ingredients and an experienced chef and a face-lift. I was really hoping that this restaurant lived up to the #1 steak message posted all around the outside, but, unfortunately, it falls quite short.
I've eaten there for years, and this is the worst experience I've had there, the steak was Was extremely tough and it was cold. And now they Charge $5 for a salad that used to come with your meal.
Our family has been dining there for 25 years plus, have always enjoyed the food there, always try to cater to the smaller establishments, however, after last visit, we were told to add a salad to our meals is now an extra five dollars, truly what does it cost to provide a salad with the meal we’ve always received in the past, from now on we’ll probably just visit the large chain there’s steaks, come with a potato and salad for less money!
