True Food Kitchen Santa Monica

We frequent True Foods usually weekly and love the healthy food. However, when I ordered the Teriyaki bowl I usually sub forbidden rice instead of the brown rice. I noticed the visit before that I was charged extra, I believe it was dollars? when I mentioned this to our waiter, he had the manager come over to explain that forbidden rice is more expensive then brown rice. I said I was confused as it is offered in the curry bowl which is relatively the same price but proceeded with my order. When we got the bill I was charged dollars extra for the forbidden rice even though it was a sub?! My bill including wine and teriyaki bowl with chicken and dollar tip was dollars!

Food was great, as always! It took almost an hour for our salad and dinner bowl to arrive, though. The waiter was understanding and offered complimentary desert, which was nice. We sat outside, it did get little chilly around but since we were dressed appropriately, we were fine. Definitely, will be back, as they have plenty of vegan options on the menu.

I was there to celebrate a friend's birthday and left not happy! The service was terrible. It took a long time for a simple ice tea. Lunch was fine, the server, Karla, didn't check in once. We ordered dessert and a cappuccino. The dessert came, no cappuccino. We nibbled on the dessert hoping for the capps, but no, the cappuccino came after the dessert was finished! I wouldn't go back and will certainly not recommend, True Food Kitchen.

Great selection for all types of foodies! Best meal I have had in awhile
