LOVE this place! Great food, strong margaritas, and beautiful view. Quick dinghy ride over from Coronados.
First things first, the location of this place is beautiful right by the water and close enough that I was able to stand in front of the ocean as we waited for our food. The food itself was delicious. We ordered the clams and one of each Fish of the Day style the garlic one was my favorite. The drinks I had were great (a pina colada and a margarita) and they were pretty big drinks, which I appreciate. Don 't let the distance discourage you from checking out La Picazon!
I don't think I have ever bought a t-shirt at a restaurant before, but I did at La Picazon. It was that good. We came for lunch. The atmosphere was incredible; the table was beautifully set; a plate of apps were waiting for us. The food was simple but incredible. Highlights include the best coconut shrimp I have ever tasted, a smoked marlin tacone that was flavorful enough to be mistaken for bacon, and grilled fish in a white wine sauce that was near perfect. The restaurant is admittedly—perhaps proudly—difficult to find. You've got to either take a boat or a dirt road that goes on for ages. But the secluded vibe is part of the magic. It's a bit like a beachside restaurant you'd find in Europe but without the pretense. If you're in the area (or near enough to the area) head over. It's really something.
