I did not specify it was my birthday on booking but I guess the waiter must have heard me talking as after our meal the waiter brought me a lovely piece of cake with happy birthday written on the plate in a fruit coulis and each of us a small box with chocolate truffles inside..
The food was below average. I sent back my pulled pork starter because I couldn't find the pork amongst the fat! The waiter apologised profusely but it was still on the bill. The rest of the food was not worth the money either, however the waiter was attentive.
Dined with a small group of friends after work. Chose this venue as convenient for Victoria station. Staff were confused as to which menu we should have even though we had not booked on a special offer. First menu was hastily withdrawn. We were not allowed to have the Menu shown on website as this was apparently only for the bar area not the restaurant, even though this was just a few tables away. We were given a table in a very draughty location and were only reluctantly allowed to move a couple of feet to a slightly warmer spot even though there were better tables available. These were apparently being saved for people who never materialised. Food was ok and nicely presented but overall we did not feel welcome and I felt embarrassed for having suggested this venue. Ww certainly won't be returning..
This was a return visit for us..our last visit was afternoon tea which was lovely. Sadly this time wasnt so great. Table booked for 12 pm as we had tickets for show at 2.30pm.. greeted and seated quickly...drink order took a while to take and deliver to table.. restaurant at this time had 3 tables of 2 people...friend had soup and steak panni..i had fish and chips ..there was no pre theatre menu. Food order took ages to be taken..some lost in translation problems with the order...we finally got our food at 13.15..restaurant appeared quiet...but i appreciate that it may have been busier than appeared for kitchen staff....asked for vinegar for my fish and chips...finally when it arrived it was balasamic not malt and waitress didnt understand this. Plates never cleared..not asked if we wanted other drinks ...they missed out as we had already decided that we wanted a dessert and coffee...but no one around to ask for either. We finally got the attention of another waitress and we asked for the bill...we left at 14.05 ..it was a disappointing lunch...ideal location for victoria palace theatre though...but on this occasion...service very poor...food not great...left disappointed...
My daughter and I visited London and made reservations for 2 Bridge Place after reading about it in our London Pass Dinner Card booklet. Our meals were wonderful! My daughter's fillet steak was grilled perfectly to her liking along with a decent portion of yummy frites and sides of grilled tomatoes and some greens. My dinner was delicious pan seared slices of beef tenderloin served over a huge mound of wild mushrooms and surrounded by gnocchi. The location couldn't be better right across the street from the Victoria Station. The Dinner Card gave us 2 for 1 pricing on the food. Such a deal can't be beat. For foreigners with a weaker currency, it makes the hit to the wallet less hurtful.
