This is a great option for budget-conscious students! I especially enjoy the Massaman style dishes and the atmosphere. Definitely a lovely spot for a casual meal with friends.
We were looking for a place to eat before a show at the Peacock Theatre. Unfortunately, Holborn seemed to only have pubs and sandwich chains. That wasn't what we wanted on a dreary evening when we were craving a hot meal. We arrived early at 6:15, but Thiwanya was open and serving a delicious Thai curry that we were eager to try. We asked if they could serve us quickly as we had a show to attend, and they assured us that they could accommodate us. I must say, I was impressed with the service at this sit-down restaurant in London. Our food arrived within 35 minutes. We ordered two courses a la carte and were satisfied with the portion sizes. The starters were delicious and left us feeling quite full. Overall, we had a positive dining experience at Thiwanya.
I recently visited Thiwanya for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is situated just behind Holborn station, making it conveniently close to my university. I arrived for dinner and was happy to find that it wasn't too crowded. My friends and I were in the mood for some warm and satisfying Thai food. From the outside, Thiwanya looks like a pub, but inside it is cozy and beautifully decorated. The staff is Thai, which added to the authentic dining experience (despite the casual stereotype).
Amazing Thai place especially for vegetarians who can not find so much of a lot of in this special kitchen in london. the ambiente was perfect and the service was good. cost for two came over £40 including dessert quite decent for this location. very romantic!
Tucked away behind the Holborn station, it's good to grab a quick and decently priced meal. The portions are hearty and the flavours are fine, as long as you're not expecting anything gourmet or too authentic. I'm not a fan of the big pieces of capsicum in their curry but I did appreciate the green curry being served on a tea light, which keeps it warm through the meal. It's slightly sweet, however, so I'd go for the Penang curry if you want some more spice. The pad Thai was made with thinner glassier noodles but it was a good twist to the dish. Overall it's a good casual place for a quick and hearty bite if you don't want to resort to the numerous chains that Holborn is full of
