We came on a Thursday night and the restaurant was not busy and they were able to accommodate a last minute time change. We were seated quickly and our friendly waiter quickly filled our water. Menu is typical Italian food and we started with some delicious appetizers. Arancini (rice balls) with marinara sauce, fried zucchini, house bread and olive oil, calamari. We also ordered a bottle of wine after much deliberation and waiter noticed we had an incorrect wine list! The appetizers were the highlight of the meal. Pasta entrees were very large and not seasoned well and in general just meh. Cheesecake and cannolis were an excellent choice for dessert! Overall, a nice place for a celebration dinner but pricey and entrees were disappointing.
I used to love this Andiamo, but sadly I will not come back here. I am so tired of paying for food that is not good. This Andiamo has not been consistent with the food tasting delicious the way it used too. It's been off for the past year. I ordered : 1) mushroom appetizer-it was cold and lacked flavor 2) ordered steak tips- they were average 3) ordered gnocchi with palmina sauce- the gnocchi was good but the sauce lacked that hearty, luscious flavor that I've known for 30 years of ordering this dish. 4) ordered the filet- it was ok, but very small and they over charged me for the 8 oz. I was charged for a 10oz. The waitress wasn't friendly , I had to give her our used plates, she didn't fill our water. The ladies bathrooms,, I don't understand how an establishment like Andiamo doesn't clean, fix, and update the bathrooms Sadly another iconic restaurant chain going down the tubes
We were there early so not a lot of people were there. It was very quiet. The server was .... He wasn't bad but he wasn't good. I kind felt he was irritated with us because we didn't order any drinks or wine even when the sommelier came by to ask if we had any questions about the wine menu. We order the veal, branzino and one of the special with chicken and shrimp. We all had the house salad the dressing was very good. I also had the soup Leek and potatoes it was delicious! I recommend it. I would go back just for that soup and would like a bowl not just a cup. Amazing! The veal Saltimbocca do Vitello was great and filling. The chicken and shrimp looked good they loved it. The shrimp was the colossal shrimp they were huge: I, of course, had the Branzino which was one the best ones I have ever had cooked perfectly and beautifully, tasted amazing and flavorful. The skin was crispy! Just beautiful!
Tried this place on a whim with a group of us and it turned out to be a good choice. The atmosphere is a bit classier but not to the point you have to dress up beyond a pair of jeans and a nice shirt. The waiter who served the group was direct and appeared to be a bit short at first but warmed up to the group towards the end of the meal. He was good at making sure no drink glasses were empty and the table was kept clean between meal courses. The food was better than anticipated. The reviews I had read prior to coming didn't inspire. This was quickly changed after the food started to arrive. The breads while we waited were fresh and flavorful. The appetizers (fried zucchini and calamari) were delicious. The main dishes were all good as the verbal responses upon being eaten reflected. The dishes ranged from lasagna to seafood. The main dish I had was the special, salmon with vegetables and mushrooms covered with a creamy sauce. I didn't take a picture of the menu to be able to call it by name. I would certainly come again. The price point is a bit higher than what you might be comfortable paying but the food quality reflected the price. The special I had was $31 with the plates ranging from $22-$50/plate. There were some higher and some lower. Pleasantly surprised.
This place has really gone downhill. We made a reservation for four, and when my wife arrived at the parking lot, her sisters showed up unexpectedly. She called from the parking lot to ask if we could add two more to our reservation, but they said they were fully booked because of Father's Day and couldn't accommodate us. However, when we walked inside, the restaurant was only about 25% full. I asked at the front counter if they could add two more, and they said it was no problem. Clearly, there's a communication issue between staff members. The biggest problem, though, is the food. We ordered the mushroom appetizer with zip sauce, but it was bland and flavorless. I've had this dish many times before and never experienced this. For dinner, we all ordered the gnocchi, which also lacked flavor. The quality of the food has really deteriorated. Additionally, the service was terrible. When it came to the free birthday dessert, the waitress said she didn't want to give it to us if it was going to go to waste. I asked to speak to the manager about her poor conduct and service, but the manager didn't seem to care. They hinted that one of the owners had sold out, which might explain the decline, but it doesn't excuse it. After being loyal customers for a long time, we won't be coming back. The food and service are just awful now.
