The Swiss Shoppe - Little Switzerland

We went to Altapass Apple orchard with the intent to eat lunch at Switzerland Cafe afterwards. I am so glad we did! I ordered the whole smoked trout appetizer as my lunch and was very happy that I did! Except the head and tail (yes, he was looking at me), it was a completely boneless whole fish, served with capers, red onion, cilantro yogurt and crackers. The smoked fish was mild and just so incredibly heavenly. My uncle had a southwest smoked chicken salad sandwich, ole! and my husband enjoyed tomato basil soup and smoked chicken on a humongous salad. Everything was delicious. We will be back. We always go back.

A cute ice cream shop with a limited selection of ice cream and fudge but everything we tried tasted great! The customer service lady was kind and let us refill our water bottle from their sink because their water was sold out. The restaurant across the street was fully booked too.

The ice cream lacked any distinct taste. Certainly not home made, as the place claims. Not worth spending any dollar on. Will not revisit.

I took a break for some ice cream while driving through the mountains. It’s a charming little shop offering delicious ice cream, coffee, and fudge. They have small tables for two inside and lovely outdoor seating as well. You can also find various souvenirs and children's toys for sale. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience.

I just want to start by saying that our trip to the mountains began with the worst food possible! But then we found this adorable little cafe, which completely changed our experience. We left the mountains feeling full and happy, wishing we had ordered more to take with us instead of just the amazing éclair we snagged for the road—definitely not a mistake! Everything we ordered was delicious and clearly prepared with love. The tomato basil soup and creamy mushroom soup were the best I've ever had! I highly recommend the homemade pimento cheese as well. The chicken tacos, with that incredible sauce, were spot on! Even the kids’ grilled cheese and hot dogs tasted great! This place exceeded all our expectations! Fantastic food, excellent service, and a lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately, I was too busy enjoying everything to take any pictures!
