The Shake-n-dog - Lenoir

Great place, but my god is busy and waiting times can get up there. order them ahead when they will be there between 11-1 in the week and not even dream of getting a table because this place is popular. the dogs and sandwiches are awesome, the pommes are good, and the personal really tries. the only reason I give less than 5 stars is the order/maintenance/picking system does not exist and had me waiting for 30 minutes before my order to be ready and no one called out my name or order number. it's just a mafia of people in the register that some have ordered, some waiting for it. from the top of my head I would suggest to paint or tap a few lines on the floor to a low narrow bank down on the curse for people waiting for pickup. a screen, a white board or a chalkboard list that are ready to give up, it would also make much better for the midday/take process.

We used to go all the time. Unfortunately, something has changed. The staff now looks sloppy, no uniforms, no hairnets.Yes some wear hats not all do, perhaps during our multiple visits we have had hair in our hotdogs including this past weekend my brother had hair on his. (Gave us an excuse hair can come in already on the product. Saw staff wipe their hands on jeans instead of washing and drying them. Staff member was observed touching his face running his hand through his hair then proceeded to make a milkshake. No hand washing after doing so. If you watch you’ll see what we see. The food is good. Hopefully, things will/can change.

Hot dogs were pretty good, but a little messy. I ordered to go so the dogs were wrapped up, but that's on me. I would eat in next time. Good, friendly service and the food very good. Parking is a bit scarce, but if you're walking in town pretty easy access. Definitely recommend a dog or two.

We must have hit this place on a bad day. All of the reviews are so good. I got a chili dog with nacho cheese on it. The bread was hard as a rock. I scraped the chili and cheese off and asked for a for a fork. In all fairness I did not ask for it to get fixed. The kid taking our order was very timid and I hate causing a problem for what has to be new staff. The one person I saw working that seemed to know what she was doing went on break before I got my food and knew there was a problem. Maybe we’ll try it again on our way back through town.

The dog were good. A little too liberal on the mayor on my wife's fogs. Staff was friendly and the shakes were amazing!!! Cute little retro 50's feel.
