Mezzapica is an Italian cafe in Leichhardt that is cute and cosy and serves a range of brunch and lunch dishes. They also have a great range of cakes and specials on the board. We came here for brunch one weekend, keen to try it out. To start, we ordered the Nutella shake and freshly squeezed juice. The shake was very decadent and rich while the juice was a nice blend of beetroot, carrot, orange and ginger and made fresh on the spot.
Great little cafe serving hearty italian fare. Everything was well made and we tried the weekly special Seafood risotto, Spice roasted quinoa salad with the works. Standout was the Hot Pot baked eggs loved the crusty parmesan cheese layer but eggs and tomato base could do with a tad longer in the oven. Service was great and we finished off the meal on a sweet note with the Mango passionfruit cheesecake, Nougat slice, Snickers mousse cake, Chocolate baklava. There's the Mezzapica Cake Studio right next door so everything is professional quality and so daintily made!
I went with the smash avocado bruschetta and the vegetarian breakfast. Friendly staff, great location and great coffee . Would definitely come back.
Mezzapica Cafe is a little corner cafe located on Norton St in Leichhardt. For a Tuesday morning, it was surprisingly busy. Street parking was really easy to find but make sure you get a ticket, there were rangers everywhere!<br/ <br/ We ordered The Italian P E roll, Norton’s Hot Pot and Smashed Avocado Bruschetta.<br/ <br/ The Italian P E Roll; it was kind of like an egg burger. Sort of a lighter version of a bacon and egg roll that’s filled with chive scrambled eggs, prosciutto provolone cheese with hollandaise sauce. It was pretty unique and was something I’ve never had before.<br/ <br/ Next, you can’t go wrong with Smashed Avocado Bruschetta. It was filled with cherry tomatoes danish feta topped with balsamic glazed on sour dough. <br/ <br/ My favourite dish that morning was the Norton’s Italian Hot Pot.<br/ I saw on the menu that it had chorizo and of course, I had to order it. And I’m so glad I did because this dish is a MUST TRY in my opinion. Filled with baked eggs, chorizo mushroom in a napoletana sauce, but what made it taste so amazing was that it was topped with parmesan crust! YUP it tasted as good as it sounds and the flavours were just spot on; not too much flavour that you easily get sick of or so much that you need a glass of water next to you.<br/ <br/ Can’t wait to come back with the husband and kids.
