Try truffle pasta, fried polenta, grilled ribs and homemade panacotta. Good wine selection. Full with local families, even on a Monday evening.
Been here a few times, mainly because the kids love the location. During the warm season it's outside dining is very enjoyable, with the kiddy play park, the ivy patios and the out of order but scenic) fountain. The problems start when the waiters come rarely) to the tables with a distant gaze, lingering around the table for a time barely sufficient to kind of understand the orders. The meat is usually pretty good, the pizza and pastas are not bad, but please do not order their fish platters, specially the raw stuff... Forget the whole restaurant in the winter, they incredibly close down the closed, covered and heatable) patios to retract the whole business in a, no window, warehouse-like interior space.
If you can find this off the road restaurant do enjoy a meal there. We had lunch with local workers on a warm sunny Friday. Vitelli was perfect
We happened to come across this place around 3 pm on a Sunday. The place was quite full with several local families were finishing up their lunch. When walking in, the scent of truffles welcomes us which was very pleasant and exciting. So we ordered a mushroom truffle pasta, a truffle pizza and a special request salami pizza which the chef was happy to accommodate. The pasta was perfectly cooked and taste was amazing. The pizza's had a super thin crust and were some of the best we have had in Italy. With everything so great, we had to try the desert despite being quite full. Again we were very surprised with an amazing tiramisu and a panda cotta which was also very good. They have a playground for young kids which makes the experience even better for parents. The restaurant seems to mainly cater for locals, but they have translated the menu in English and the daughter of the owner speaks English very well. We will definitely go again to try the steaks other reviews talk about and recommend the restaurant to anyone traveling through the area.
With an interior bathed in bright white neon light with a multitude of overhead strips that looked like Star Wars sabre lasers I initially thought this restaurant will be as interesting as a floodlit amputation operating theatre. But I was wrong. Wow, this is a good restaurant. The food was excellent. We were a group of 12 and everyone said their food was outstanding. My fish dish was fantastic at a reasonable price. The service was great. I loved the wines. And the prices were outstanding value for money. If you want a place where the locals eat, this is a good example. Not pretentious. Just damn good. So good that three nights later a group of 16 of us went back and enjoyed the same experience. Wonderful Tuscan life.
