This charming little spot may be modest in appearance, but the food is absolutely outstanding! The service was excellent as well. Although the sign outside indicated that they only accept reservations, the glowing reviews encouraged us to take a chance and see if we could get a table. We’re so glad we did, as they were able to seat and serve us quite promptly.

In a food-loving city like Las Vegas, a thirty-seat restaurant embodies the essence of exclusivity, yet this straightforward trattoria in a strip mall is delightfully unpretentious and outstanding. Everything is made fresh to order, including the lasagna. The salad is expertly mixed and delivers a real sense of excitement. Upon entering, you're likely to hear the rhythmic sound of the chef tenderizing veal cutlets with a firm hand. Dishes piled high on the countertop can be seen rattling slightly in sync with this culinary beat. If you recognize the signs of a place that truly knows how to do things right, you won’t want it any other way. The portion sizes are generous (but not overwhelming), and the prices are astonishingly low. The service is attentive and professional, which feels almost remarkable considering this is a quintessential family-run establishment (with the younger generation lending a hand whenever possible). They have a BYOB policy, allowing you to bring along your favorite Barolo, Sangiovese, Chianti, or Lambrusco to complement what locals will tell you is the finest Italian food in town. Locals are usually spot-on, and this spot is hard to surpass. Reservations are essential. The decor is quite simple, so if you're seeking a fancy atmosphere or romantic setting, you might want to look elsewhere. However, if you miss the vibe of your favorite Little Italy hole-in-the-wall and crave food worthy of the Godfather, Los Olivos is the place to be. Most of your fellow diners are likely to know each other from years of enjoying their meals side by side. Such loyalty is built over time and consistency.
