As before, we turned up late but this time, we were accommodated easily. So, we chose a mixed Vietnamese starter for two people and the mains along with a couple of Vietnamese beers and a small carafe of white wine. Well, the starter arrived and it was big and I mean big with a very good mix of Vietnamese delicacies. We both looked at each other knowing that what was before us was going to be sufficient for us to eat without the need for main courses, something I said to the waitress who said 'no problem ' and cancelled the main courses without issue or penalty. Now that deserves praise! So, this 'big ' starter! There was an excellent mix of fishy, veggie, meaty and salady food, all of which were very tasty as was the beer and wine. Service was friendly and given the flexibility and the actual bill size, we left a healthy tip with the promise that we would be back. We will. I am sure if they had a better location and more space, they would do really well as you do get a feeling that the food is authentic and it is definitely tasty.
I echo Andre's review. I have a property in the village, and frequently shop at the adjacent supermarket. I never noticed the restaurant as it comes to life when all the other businesses close. I was introduced to the establishment by my friends when we went to buy a takeaway recently. The interior is quite compact, and I think a full house would have left me claustrophobic. It was clean, and tables well laid out. We were served by the owners. Extremely nice people, and the food was excellent.
Recently opened this restaurant set in a shopping centre is all too easy to drive past but that would be a mistake. The lady Chef/patron is more than likely known to local oriental food lovers as she used to cook at the now defunct Escale d'Asie at Argelès plage. This is a difficult restaurant to categorize, it does infact do a bustling Take-away trade but offers sit down facilities for those wishing to dine in. Catering for around 25 covers it is small yet clean and pleasant and whilst it may not be the most atmospheric place to eat you can forgive them this as the food is first rate. Notable dishes include Nems, steamed raviolis and crab salad amongst the starters and any of the satay/curry dishes as mains perfectly complemented by beautifully buttery Riz cantonais. This remains a small family run local restaurant that offers very good value for money and is well worth a detour, truly a notch above the plethora of distinctly average Vietnamese restaurants one finds in the department. Moreover this could be a Godsend to the local Anglophiles looking for a decent take-away for those nights when only oriental will do!
