My wife had the lobster ravioli bursting with flavour. Moved to the Duck confit and the seared cod. The cod was light and tasty and the pairing of the duck with the turnip gratin was excellent. We finished dinner with a shared slice of rum cake in a molasses, screech and butter and a dollop of whip cream to finish the culinary delight. The view from the restaurant overlooks the ocean and two small ice bergs floated patiently off the coast. If you are in the area, don’t miss the chance to enjoy this out of the way gem!
What a spectacular location, fantastic, friendly staff and DELICIOUS food. Highly recommend eating here and trying all the special items! Go all out! Photos: Vineland Martini (iceberg ice! , Halibut Shrimp soup, FRESH local lobster and Lemon Citrus cake (so light and fluffy .
We had a delicious evening meal at the Norseman. We started with beautiful lobster house ravioli. My halibut was fresh and delicious marinaded in lemon zest and topped with nettle pesto accompanied by beautifully a lightly roasted beet, turnip, zucchini medley. My kids enjoyed their duck confit and roasted chicken. Service was warm and the cove view made our evening perfect followed by a relaxed sunset walk along low tide rocks to a sea cave. Thanks for a memorable evening.
This place is a true gem out in the far-flung reaches of the Great Northern Peninsula. We were longing to dine at a good restaurant after spending a few days traveling were delighted to have found The Norseman. Attentive staff, excellent, fresh, homemade cuisine, white tablecloths, cocktails, wine, etc. The fresh fish local shrimp chowder was perfect, as were the panko-crusted chicken sandwiches the desserts. Even the coffee was good. We loved it! Recommend.
A perfect dinner: delicious meals, excellent service and, if you reserve in advance like we did, you might have a table near the window with a typical Newfoundland ocean view. Nicole Bruno
