Although the atmosphere on a Sunday evening was not to be written home when they see this deal again (and I have seen it a few times), then they go. the only part is that they feel like you...read more
This was one of the primo finds so far this year. great eating, fabulous location and excellent service. with the TT-deal, this place is really hard to beat.
The food here is delicious and the burgers quite unusual. The decor is elegant french country which was a great delight and the real fire was incredibly comforting on a cold January night. The one niggle was the waitress who seemed rather neurotic and aggressive. We waited ten minutes for the sides to come following the arrival of the mains. As no recognition of this seemed to register and no apology we asked what the reason was for the delay only to be met with denial of the delay and general dismissive attitude. On arrival I confirmed we had a booking and the TT offer. Her response to this was a gruff 'where did I hear about this ' suggesting that it did not exist.I referred her back to her team to check the details. No condiments arrived with the food nor any offer of such so we got up to help ourselves as they were clearly visible. Probably the worst service and waitress I have ever encountered. Such a shame as everything else was almost perfect.
Was a spur of the moment decision for a friend and I to go for dinner... and such a great choice! Lovely atmosphere and we weren't too hassled by staff. Great burgers and some delicious house wine!
It was a reasonably average experience. No complaints, but nothing spectacular. The food was okay and the service was friendly and prompt. The only two issues I had were that (1) our server forgot to mention that ordering pulled pork on your burger was a either/or option . It was listed as an extra that costs £4, but they don 't add it to the burger. They replace the beef burger with the pulled pork. That was a little disappointing as I wanted a burger, but the pulled pork sandwich was ok. (2) The server also forgot to deduct the 20% offer from our bill until prompted. Once we reminded her, she amended it. I would highly recommend Honest Burger in Brixton Village, or the burger served at The Rookery near Clapham Common over the Craft Kitchen. However, I would recommend the Craft Kitchen 's pub area as a great little venue for a small celebration/party.
