The Upper Crust - Lakewood

The food was ready very quickly and was delicious!! Nice to see some new items in the menu. Minus 1 star because there were some overripe brown pieces in the guacamole.

Delicious café. I remember it used to be a refugee place, but I think Upper Crust is much better. waiter service and you have always shown a place immediately. I think prices are pretty good. From when you order until the food before you is quite fast, which is good, so you will not become blunt. Sometimes I like to be a bit adventurous and try something interesting. Usually, although my go to appetizers are Mac and cheese Bites Mozzarella sticks and the onion rings. I usually don't go for a salad, but if I make it either the avocado Crisp Salad or the sushi salad. All pastas are very good. When it comes to personal pizzas, I get either the Margarita Pie the Alla Vodka Pie or the Upper Crust Pie. Every meal here, of course, needs a Frappe or Milkshake. You must try the whole dessert menu they are all so good!

If you go for kosher dairy products in Lakewood, this place is probably one of two good places in the area. Difference here is that these guys know dough and pizza, which means that their pizza (and dessert calzones) will be great. We went to a busy weekend and they had both indoor and outdoor seats. Pizzas were great, and some very funky. There is one with onion rings and Bbq sauce, another with mini-mozzarella sticks (which is basically only cheese on cheese), and more with roasted cauliflower or broccoli under a little more cheese. My advice here is really trying to put stuff with tomato sauce. Would be nice if they contain Arugula or truffles like some of the more modern NYC Italian restaurants. Appetizers are here. We did not try frits, but we tried the tuna tostadas (fish seemed quite fresh and it was somehow like a crispy rice), and the nachos (real good and cheesy). This place is probably not a good idea if you are lactose intolerant. For Dessert you want to try the Nussella/Eno-Walz. Save space. Some minor problems I had were that the service was quite missing. Kellner did not care to serve customers properly and seemed to have an impatient attitude. People who wanted to bring extra utensils did not take back our dirty dishes, and for the second half of the meal our table was full of dirty plates. Also the bathroom was used as storage for other things, was not clean, and the camera to flush the toilet did not work. You should have more money in the staff, clean bathrooms a bit better, and maybe install camera systems for better management. Just my two cents.

The Upper Crust has been our favorite family restaurant for years!! We started eating there in the five towns and now in Lakewood. We celebrate most of our birthdays, graduations and other such occasions there always! The food is super good,like comfort food ,but fancy;
