The Original New York Bagels

We often stop by for a half dozen takeout bagels and cream cheese. The bagels are really good. Nice, thick New York style bagels. Their freshly made veggie cream cheese is also excellent. I’ve only ever done takeout. The facility is kind of cramped to eat in. Staff isn’t always the friendliest but the bagels are good.

We have lived here 4 years and recently visited. I’m kicking myself for not going sooner! We’ve already been back several times. I love the Asiago bagel with plain cream cheese. The dill cream cheese and house I’ve ya so yummy too! Coming back to get a famous Cuban next.

I’m going to admit to being a total bagel snob. I am from NY and have experienced totally authentic bagels so I’m usually disappointed outside of that area. I’ve held off on trying this place out of fear I’ll just be disappointed. On this particular day we decided to try it out and the result was pretty good. While still falling short of my bagel benchmark they were definitely much closer than most others I have tried. I went with pastrami on mine and totally enjoyed it. Prices are decent so we will probably return at some point.

The food was quick, cheap and good portions. The #2 breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, potatos and an everything bagel was perfect. The #1 with fried eggs, potatoes and a new bacon cheddar cheese bagel was also perfect. The crumb cake was just like the crumb cake from the 3rd Ave bakeries in Brooklyn. Those of you who remember will enjoy that crumb cake. The interior was a little on the dirty side but that might be because if the short staff and large crowd. We will return.
