The dining experience was incredible. I ordered the crab and shrimp ravioli, and it was delicious and very filling; I couldn't help but think it was a bit overwhelming, which might be why. I also paired it with some parmesan, which enhanced the dish for me. Additionally, I tried the corn bread and the banana pudding, which was beautifully presented. The corn bread was a bit dry, but I actually enjoyed it that way. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.
The food was fantastic! I ordered the Crab Shrimp Ravioli, and it was delicious and quite satisfying. Being female, I think I might find it even more filling. I paired it with Parmesan, which really enhanced the dish for me. I also tried the cornbread and the beautifully presented banana pudding. While the cornbread was a bit dry, that's actually how I prefer it. Overall, it was a lovely experience.
We were visiting from out of town and staying at a hotel nearby. Looking for dinner options, we always aim to try something different when traveling. We googled the best restaurants in North Charleston, and the top result was Nigel's. From the description, we thought it was just a local bar and grill. However, when we asked the hotel receptionist for recommendations, she also suggested Nigel's. Wow! This place is fantastic. The wait staff were incredibly friendly, and the food was amazing. The fried chicken was enormous, and the cornbread resembled a slice of cake! I ordered the seafood ravioli, which was absolutely delicious! My little boy, who's just 15 months old, enjoyed his meal and even shared some of mine! If we ever come back to this area, we will definitely return to Nigel's!
My gumbo was delicious, perfectly balanced with just the right amount of spice—not overwhelming, but flavorful enough to enjoy. It included a generous serving of shrimp and sausage. Although the shrimp had a taste that reminded me of frozen shrimp, they were cooked flawlessly and not overdone. The sausage had a rich flavor, reminiscent of good Andouille. My wife was quick to declare that the fried cabbage was the best she had ever tasted. The fried chicken was juicy and cooked well, featuring a light crust that enhanced the flavor without taking away from the chicken itself. She found the mac and cheese to be decent, loaded with plenty of cheese. The service was excellent; our waitress even offered us tea to-go before I had a chance to ask for it. The atmosphere felt warm and inviting, embodying the essence of home-cooked soul food. The restaurant also had a well-stocked bar, although we didn't partake in drinks. Overall, we plan to add Nigel's to our shortlist of go-to restaurants and look forward to returning.
