Brasserie 1930 - La Couronne

Shopping at Auchan today and decided to stop for lunch. Daily specials were great value for money. I had grilled Veal in a mushroom cream sauce with pasta and spinach cake, red wine, raspberry and apple crumble and a coffee for 14.5€. Definitely on my list to go back to.

Me and my husband called here one lunchtime for a quick bite to eat. The atmosphere is always buzzing and the food is tasty and excellent value for money. The service is superb and quick.

We have eaten here many times over the last 15 years and have never been disappointed. It is always busy serving proper home cooked food at lunchtime, serving all age groups of local French workers. The staff are friendly and efficient and run around at some speed to serve everyone quickly. The menu is quiet varied but consists mainly of pizzas, salads and steaks. The menu du jour is different every day and is rarely repeated. At less than €10 for a home made main course it is good value for money. If you are lucky you might get home made hollandaise sauce! It is to die for! Portions are generous and the cooking is beautiful. Today my magret de canard was perfect. It was served with an unusual but delicious combination of leek tart, pasta and sauce au poivre. Mike had a freshly prepared and huge pizza Mexican. It is child friendly with a sensible children's menu. We usually visit when we go to shop as it is part of a centre commercial. If only UK supermarket cafes were even a tenth as good as this one!!!

3 Lunch House Burger Le Classic, Linguine and Shrimp with Thai sauce and Blanquette de Veau followed by crème brulé. All excellent and very reasonable portions. Cappuccino coffees excellent. Friendly staff and efficient service for a very pleasant and relaxing lunch
