Kasumi Izakaya+ - Kyoto

Excellent food and very cozy atmosphere! I would highly recommend this place! The food is very well thought-out fusion of Japanese and European cuisine. We ordered two different lunch sets, Kyoto set menu and Juicy Hulf Pounder Steak and then shared them. Both sets were very delicious, but especially the steak was extremely good. I'd like to have it for the second time. The place is just a bit more expensive than average lunch, but you get more meat and vegetables instead of rice. Drinks such as orange or apple juice are also included. The atmosphere is very cozy. It is a pleasure to observe the small details of decorations. No doubt that many thoughts are in them. If you want to try a bit different Kyoto food, it can't go wrong! The only drawback is that I was not present a little the staff. For example, no one told me that the drinks are included and I found nothing written about it, even in Japanese, so I had to accept it and just take myself. Nevertheless, this is partly our own fault, because after lunch we already sat at the table. I am glad that they have accepted us and we have to enjoy our lunch in a very quiet atmosphere only from us.

A sweet restaurant upstairs. We believe they gave us a tourist menu that had only 3 food items on it. I wish there were more things because the food was the bomb puppet! A guy on the back cook delicious steak and juicy tone catsu! This place is a sweet little spot with a price point that is hard to beat!

We stumbled in this place and took a chance, so glad we did. The place lies on a narrow flight of stairs and has an extremely cozy atmosphere. We ordered the Kyoto-style meal for 1250 yen each, consisting of about 10 different small dishes. Not very experienced in Japanese cuisine, many of the dishes were a guessing game for me, but the great majority I found to be very tasty. If you are in the area, this place is a must for lunch or dinner.

Came here for lunch on a Saturday, got the Kyoto set for 1250, it comes with unlimited ice coffee, orange juice, apple juice and water! Such excellent value for money, got so many small dishes of the Kyoto cuisine to taste and I loved how the majority of it was vegetarian. Excellent place would highly recommend.

This might not be common knowledge, but this place is run by two brothers who really do care about what goes onto a plate. They work to see if a dish works, and from there put it on a menu. The food, atmosphere, and aesthetics of this joint are sublime, and present a surprisingly homey atmosphere in what is normally a touristy district. Give it a try, and you 'll see the dynamic of this restaurant at work in a good way. Cocktails are also a good specialty of the owner, and are certainly no watered down after thought or overly sugared misstep. Their drink selection isn 't slacking either, and specializes in presenting the best of Kyoto, but not in a way that throws taste or smell under the bus on the way to give a 'Kyoto ' experience.
