They usually have something (cold noodles) and soup curry. Since they are not on the menu, the amount of prepared meals is limited, so if going with more than 2-3 people, it might be better to make a call ahead. Both options are good and fill. Meals are available on your own or as a set with a drink and a desert. The vegan desert was tapioca balls in coconut milk.
We were able to try out the two vegan options on the menu that are both very pleasant. The curry had a nice mix of spices, and the noodles came with a rather pleasant peanut sauce. The noodles were beautiful and refreshing, making them a great meal for the hot weather. Both meals came with a salad and tapioca dessert. The restaurant itself is cozy, even a little small.
I had read that they had 2 vegan lunch options, but when I arrived in the shop, they did not appear to be on the menu. I decided to ask the staff, and they told us that they had only the curry option this day (I guess they sometimes have the noodles, but they were out). We both ordered the vegan curry lunch set that came with curry, rice, salad and a coconut tapioca dessert. We ordered coffee separately. The inside of the shop was sweet and they had some small crafty souvenirs for sale. We ate outside. There was only one table outside, and it was very relaxing and comfortable. If it is crowded, there is also a small park nearby which has covered picnic tables; another option if you decide to take. We enjoyed lunch and I hope to go back and try their vegan noodles next time! It is nice to have vegan options in Kuroishi, a beautiful historical city with many hot springs and cute shops.
