La Société Köln

I live in Cologne for many years now yet never went to La Société until this October! It really has been a great choice for us. All the great dishes have been served in a distinguished way, the service is great with a touch of the regional culture as well as the interieur! Do you expect something special for a special evening...thats the place to go!

Just an absolutely outstanding restaurant! Visited on Valentine’s Day and chose the valentines menu. Well put together delightful dishes, very highest quality and whilst not cheap great value for money. And when you think it cannot get any better, the cheese selection. Incredible : looking forward to our next visit :

Went there with friends and spent a great evening . The surprise menu was good value for money offering a great choice of tastes and styles. Starting with the Cologne Tapas inc. 0,05 cl of Kölschbier to the great choice of cheese to end with -everything was well presented and tasty. The selection of wines is good too. To round it up, the service was very professional, friendly and humorous. See you soon again.

The atmosphere in the la societe is unusual for a Michelin restaurant: everywhere lights and “Gedöns”. this takes a lot of prejudice from a typical nobel restaurant and you feel much more relaxed. the number of tables is extremely small and these are also quite close together. by the limited number of potential guests, individual care is ensured by the service and a concentration of the chefs on perfection. great instead of mass. there are no windows with view and a wall is mirrored. this leads to the focus on the room and the other guests. the limited number of guests and the relatiw dense tables create a family atmosphere, you feel somehow connected to the other guests. so in society (French societé). the family atmosphere is underlined by the owner and manager of the restaurant, who gives you the feeling a good friend and the most important guest to be this evening. even the only one to be hospitable. this is in a pleasant contradiction to the feeling of being in society. the chef can only be called an artist and eating as an art. one could call it an opera in 8 records (operate have a maximum of 5 acts I mean), with the others being addressed in addition to sucking and earing. overall it was an evening that I will not forget so quickly.

Eating and service are all the better. the melin star is in any case justified. one of our best culinary experiences.
