Himmel un AD - Köln

Nice food and a good view over the Rhine.You may want to enjoy to eat outside in the summer. Prices are cheap about 10-15 €...

My colleagues and I had chosen to stay in the Cologne suburb of Porz for no other reason than the hotel was a good price. On arrival at the hotel, we took to the internet to find somewhere to eat and came across an amazing little gem just a short walk from our hotel. The Himmel un ÄD is set back off the main road in an elevated position with excellent views across the Rhein. We had sought a place that served traditional German food and we were not disappointed - we visited on a Tuesday night which was their weekly Schnitzel Night; my colleagues both enjoyed schnitzels whilst I had the most amazing pork medallions served in a mustard sauce. The food was truly delicious and accompanied by one or two glasses of their superb weissbier! The staff were incredibly helpful and spoke good English although the menus themselves were only in German, that didn't matter for our group.
