The inn was very well maintained, and the room was nice and bright and had a super comfortable bed. The view of the river and the often foggy (in the morning) valley was unhindered and was a beautiful sight to wake up. There were many small touches we noticed that the owners and employees really took care of the place. And the food is just amazing. Had breakfast and dinner on Sunday every day. It was a multi-course setup and just absolutely fantastic. Note that you need reservations for dinner, but it is worth it. The nearby farm at the top of the hill offers meals and the freshness of everything was top notch. We did not spend time on the ground floor common area because we want to explore nature as much as possible, but it is very cozy and beautiful and quiet. Very recommend to stay here and look forward to a return at a point in the future.
The Historic Requa Inn was a delightful retreat from our busy life in Northern Oregon. The spectacular view of the wide and rolling Klamath River soothes the soul. The best place for viewing that river is from beautiful dining room decorated with William Morris style wall paper and an antique stove. The warm, wide windows offer a view where one might be fortunate enough to catch sight of a bear. The wild nature outside the windows is happily de-stressing. Everything about this inn is relaxing and lovely. We stayed in a handicap-accessible room that was apparently remodeled recently with a truly comfy king bed, a huge shower with beautiful tile and stone work, and many small touches of Native American artwork. The room features a small eating area and a sitting porch with two chairs, where one can relax in the morning and evening after spending the day at Prairie Creek enjoying the redwoods, or at nearby ocean beaches. I have only one suggestion. Though handicapped, I was able to use the four outdoor steps needed to get to our room. It would be good if those steps were mentioned in the room description for any handicapped guest so they know what to expect. We are eager to return for a longer stay at the beautiful Requa Inn. I plan to use at least one day sitting in the welcoming lobby and reading one of the offered books from the Inn's small, but intriguing library. Maybe an Autumn or Winter day would serve us well. We thank everyone associated with the Inn for your kind hospitality on our recent mid July trip.
Tucked away near a lake is this wonderful inn that we had the pleasure of staying in! The room we resided in had a great view and was very cozy with the rainy weather outside. When we arrived we were provided with lots of recommendations for nearby food and activities. Breakfast served the next morning was perfect to get us started on our journey!
Beautiful, all of it. The inn, the views, and the location as a launching point to so much more: beaches, redwoods, trails, and more views. The daily breakfast at the inn is a must. Many of the menu items are from a farm locally-owned and run by the same wonderful people who own and run the restaurant. It?s about as true a farm-to-table experience you can get, and you can taste it in the food.
My boyfriend surprised me with a stay at this beautiful, historic inn during our trip to the redwoods. Each room has its own layout, theme, and decor with much of the original furniture from over 100 years ago. The view of the Klamath river was beautiful to wake up to, and we were able to watch bald eagles fish on the river from the main dining room while enjoying our breakfast. They offered house made granola (delicious! and a variety of grab-and-go style options for breakfast. There were also homemade cookies in the evening. We also enjoyed the hot tub; there is a sign up sheet for 30-minute intervals so you can have the tub all to yourself. I would love to stay in each of these rooms at some point, if I'm lucky enough! Highly recommend this hotel for a peaceful reprise after a long day of adventuring the redwoods!
