Da Vinci - Klagenfurt

My friend and I both ordered the Ruccola tomatoes toast. When it arrived, it had ham on it. We are both vegetarians, so we complained and pointed out that ham was not listed in the menu for this article. The waitress insisted that we should have known that ham is a standard ingredient of toast. She said we could exchange our toasts for toast without ham, but she would have to charge us for all four things. Just bizarre.

We have come to appreciate Da Vinci at the old place in Klagenfurt and made it to our regular first stop for a coffee and a sandwich after parking in the City Arkaden parking lot. (See my previous reviews) This time we were for... a disappointment. The coffee quickly came with a word from the waitress that the tuna sandwiches would last a short time. After we finished our coffees and looked at the street life of Klagenfurt, we waited another time and decided not to wait further and leave the sandwiches. When we demanded our bill, unobtrusive and inconspicuous sandwiches were suddenly placed on the table. No way. After a discussion we only got the bill for coffee. Is it new and inexperienced staff?

The "Alter Platz" is an inviting pedestrianized street in Klagenfurt. It is a charming place lined with shops, cafés and restaurants. Our preferred café at the "Alter Platz"is Da Vinci. Inviting outdoor tables, where a good sit-down can be had for looking at Klagenfurt street life. Good coffee and good sandwiches for a reasonable price and to top it all off, excellent service of the staff.
