Peyton’s Cafe - Kingsville

On the road with my family, needed a place to eat. Stopped here right at opening time for breakfast, but only a lunch menu was available during the weekday. Everything was very delicious, would highly recommend.I advise you confirm the business hrs before dropping in, M-F 11am to 2pm.

Salad with grilled chicken was Ok. Chicken looked/tasted like it was boiled than grilled there is something that just tastes off with this salad. Not sure if it's a seasoning or the eggs but it's been a distinct (not the most pleasant) taste each time I've ordered this salad. I keep going back because there is literally nowhere else to get a healthy meal this salad is big enough to make me feel full.

We stopped by here on our way to South Padre Island and are so glad we did. It's located in a small shopping center with plenty of parking. We arrived at 11 am on a Saturday and were seated right away. The waitress was very attentive and our food arrived shortly after we ordered. My fiancé got a burger that came with so many fries and I got the avocado toast with a couple eggs. The avocado toast had tomato and onions which I like myself but if you don't want veggies make sure to let them know. The tater tots were nice and crispy and the tea was refreshing. The cafe is nicely decorated and the bathrooms were very clean. Definitely a perfect mid-trip stop.

I will start with a review of the food which alone, would be a solid 4 star. I've been satisfied with the food each time I've been. Second, let's talk about service there has been only one young lady working there each time I have been there. She is fabulous. She has a gentle, kind spirit about her and is always patient and helpful. She works the register, takes orders, answers the phone for takeout orders, and brings food to the tables even when it's lunch hour and they are super busy. I've never seen her unravel or be rude to customers in any fashion. As for the chef who is also the owner he is why the rating is a 2 star. I have listened to him be rude and nasty to the worker over issues that she cannot control. The place is small, so there isn't much room, and all the customers could hear him. We all looked around at each other in such an uncomfortable manner. If he speaks to a female employee that way, who is actually working very hard I wouldn't want to see how he speaks to other women in his life.

Peyton’s cafe way amazing. I went there with my friend. We tried the Mini Quiche Sampler and chicken and waffles. The food and staff were amazing. Definitely a repeat!
