Bunkers - Killarney

We had an amazing meal at Bunkers. Killorglin is where my wife's grandfather is from, so while we were exploring the area, we decided to stop in for lunch. Our meals were delicious and the service was top-notch. My wife enjoyed the shepherd's pie and I ordered the fish and chips, both were excellent. Overall, a great experience.

We spent an hour and a half at the restaurant for lunch, waiting for starters and mains for 3 adults. There were around 5 different staff members serving our table. The baby bowl was not edible and the toasted sandwich was cold. We had to ask for water 3 times and the garlic mayo we requested was sour when it finally arrived. The overall quality of the food was not good and there was poor communication between the staff. When we mentioned our dissatisfaction during payment, the staff member did not seem to care or apologize. We will not be returning to this establishment.

This restaurant is very good, not perfect, but still very good. We ordered a chicken burger and a steak sandwich. The burger came with fries and sauce. The chicken was tasty, although I felt that there were a few too many onions on it. The sauce was also good, not overpowering, and paired well with the fries. The fries were decent. The steak sandwich was flavorful and well-seasoned, and the mushroom sauce tasted fresh. The prices were reasonable for the quality of food.

I brought my family to this restaurant for dinner. We waited outside for 40 minutes for a table, and once seated, we ordered our food. The starters came out first, followed by drinks. However, we were approached by a staff member who asked us to pay for our meal before even eating. I was very embarrassed by this, as I had never experienced this before. I questioned why we had to pay upfront, as I had seen others pay at the counter after their meals. The staff could not provide a satisfactory explanation. We finished our meal while watching everyone else pay after their meals, making it the most embarrassing family meal ever. The staff were unpleasant and the food was not worth the long wait.

My family and friends went to Bunkers restaurant today, August 11th. There were 10 of us and we had to wait at the door for over half an hour because it was busy. The doorman, Puk, was very kind and eventually we were seated. We ordered our food and received our soups. However, we were shocked when the waitress brought us the bill and told us we had to pay immediately, even though we hadn't finished our dinner. When we questioned this policy, the staff was unhelpful and rude. We ended up paying €120 for our meal, which was ruined by the poor service. We will not be returning to Bunkers in the future and suggest they improve their staff training.
