Fritas Cuban Burger Cafe - Key West

Your employees are not well informed about the difference between vegan and vegetarian, and they give unconsistent information about what is vegan. I was past a few days before our visit and asked the person what options they had. She couldn't say much more than that they had vegan options. After returning to dinner, an older woman was there (probably the owner) and we discussed options. She said that she describes several dishes as vegetarians because they cook their impossibility burgers on the same grill as the regular burgers, and she thinks that some vegans are restless about it. But would vegetarians not want to know? I know it's good to tell me, and that's not a deal killer for me. I'm married to an allied and must make compromises, so I'm not worried about cross-contamination But, the fact that they otherwise label vegan dishes as vegetarians to avoid complaints from Fussy Veganer showed me that they are not really interested in serving vegans. I had to press them to confirm if the Cuban bread was okay. The server didn't know. The owner wasn't. In fact, Cuban bread has LARD. They offered to make instead of bread an impossible Frita burger with stones (fried Plantain paste), and it worked pretty well. But after a few bites I realized that she added CHEESE and had left the onions and sauces that should be on it. They were accordingly contritated and offered to make a new one. But it was slow to come much longer than the original order. Restaurants usually prioritise their mistakes, but it seemed that they only added the reorders to return from the line. My wife ate as slow as she could, but she was done long before my order came. They freed their plates, and the owner asked if we wanted to order Dessert while I waited! When it arrived, I started feeling a little sick, maybe because I had only eaten cheese for years. I couldn't eat the meal even though I got hungry and the part wasn't that big. I can't recommend Fritas for vegans.

Hidden in this Cuban square that had an incredible Cuban burger for which you can subdue impossible meat! And the Yucca fries with garlic Zilantro oil were the pearl I've ever had!

Great tacos, perfect for a light dinner or lunch. Return to their Burger specialty and not disappointed! Great, quick, friendly service! Don't forget the Sangria! The best on the island

Amazing Cuban tacos and Sangria. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food didn't last long at 7:00. Great atmosphere for traditional Cuban cuisine and typical hole in the wall charm. HIGHLY recommend this place!!

Menu looked so good we ordered 3 things. Everybody was great. We travel for such gems. Very recommended!!
