We are gluten free and my son is gluten egg and dairy free No problem ordering for him and they were very knowledgeable about his dietary restrictions. I felt confident letting him eat there which I can't say for many places. I had vegan tamales which were so different that I've ever had and flavourful! My son had gluten free vegan garlic cheese fingers. He ate them all and he even got a dessert! We were all satisfied and the price and portions were perfect. I did feel a bit claustrophobic as there are a lot of old knick knacks and stuff and an overcrowded gift shop but it does make it a unique and quirky place. The owner was so nice and pleasant and pei is very lucky to have people that can cook like this!
My friends and I went for a visit to PEI and, being celiac, my eating options were limited. I found out about the kitchen witch and was pleasantly surprised by the experience! It was above and beyond what I was expecting. Not only was the food absolutely phenomenal (The french toast was dreamy), but the atmosphere and the service stood out. The owner was one of the kindest people I have met and truly goes out of her way to make your lunch a wonderful experience. I know I will be back many times!
Such a memorable experience! Wow. We came here for lunch, and there were a few vegetarian vegan options on the menu. I had the vegetarian poutine, and although it wasn’t to my taste, I am glad to have tried! The lady owner was very friendly and there are HEAPS of jams and preserves available for purchase. Very affordable and very yummy. We bought a few. Loved the idea of the games at each table. Probably could have done without the “live entertainment “ at lunch, as it was right in our ear. But.... it all added to the memorable experience.
What a delightful spot to come across, the most amazingly delicious food and the owner was delightful. We didn't have a chance to have our leaves read but we will definitely be back in the very near future!!
I came from Montreal and visited this place 6 years ago and fell in love. Now that I have moved to PEI, I make sure to go as many times as possible. This is a great family-owned restaurant with delicious food made from local ingredients. There is no gluten option, but the food is amazing. It is comforting and delicious, and you can enjoy and relax while taking in the sights of the restaurant. There are crafts hanging in the windows and a cute boutique where you can buy preserves, loose leaf tea, and souvenirs. On certain days, you can even have a tea cup reading to add some fun to your visit. The owner always welcomes you with a smile, even though they work extremely hard. If you don't stop by, you are missing out. Take the time to truly enjoy your experience here.
