Carmine's Wood Fired Pizza - Joplin

Moved from NY to Joplin for school and couldn’t find pizza I liked in the area… then I tried Carmine’s: while I think the pizza size is a bit smaller than what you’d get in NY, the flavor profile is definitely close. I kept it super basic and went with a plain ol’ pizza pie, but I’ll definitely try something a little extra next time. Forgot about our pizza cause everyone was more focused on their friends who came in getting their food. Was told they had no wings then the guy brought 4 pounds out for their friends who came in a while after us. Would give 0 if i could. Food is good but not when its forgotten about and have to be reminded when its just sitting there.

I had the stromboli and the 2 guys I was with had 2 pizzas. The stromboli tasted excellent although not much meat in it. You could tell the dough was homemade. The guys said that their pizza was really good and looked like it was loaded down with toppings. Our waitress was really friendly.

Employee gave me wrong information about what I was ordering and the price of what I was ordering before I ordered. I brought it to their attention when I got my check but they charged me more than what they said it would be anyway. I complained to the manager who changed the subject and gave a simple sorry. In other words, they do bad business.

Originally wrote a review over 3 years ago. Update August of 2022: This is my husband and I's favorite wood-fired pizza joint! We’ve been coming here time and time again for years now. It never disappoints! The food is amazing and the service is always wonderful. Our favorite is the NY style Meat Lovers and the cheesy garlic bread. The prices are cheap and make for a great date night! The facility is always clean and well kept, too. We recommend eating here!
