What a fantastic restaurant! It’s a great spot for vegans like me. The atmosphere is relaxed, accompanied by some nice music that’s a bit louder than your average coffee shop, but it fits the vibe perfectly. The food is delicious, and the prices are quite reasonable. The owner’s daughter was very helpful, and the rest of the staff was equally attentive. It was such a cozy place to escape the chilly weather outside. I will definitely be returning! I must also say, the owner’s daughter is quite beautiful as well.

The cuisine is designed for sharing, and every bite is a delight. Eating with your hands adds to the fun of the experience. The rich Ethiopian coffee is exceptionally flavorful and stands out from the usual offerings you find in Maboneng. In summary, Habesha makes a genuine effort to deliver an authentic Ethiopian dining experience.

This is the best Ethiopian food I've ever had, and I've enjoyed plenty of amazing Ethiopian meals! We can't wait to return to Joburg and eat here again. Just order anything on the menu—you won't regret it!

Loved our experience here at Habesha. Ww were warmly welcomed. The decor and the the ambience transports you to another space and time. The smell of freshly roasted coffee and lobaan is mesmerizing. Ordered the meat and vegetarian platter to share. The flavors are subtle but well cooked. We loved the fluffy bread that we used to spoon in these delicious morsels into our mouths. Great music. You have to try the coffee at the end of the meal. It is other worldly. Divine. A traditional honey wine complemented our meal. Was delicious. Would definitely recommend
