Everything from the booths to the decor screams of the time when life was easier, more affordable, and family time meant something. The guys in the kitchen work fast and I mean fast! The cost of dinner with the family didn 't break the bank while other restaurants seem to be exploiting the current times and inflating their menu prices. The menu itself is diverse offering dinners, pizza, sandwiches and a variety of appetizers. I personally ordered the fish chips and I will say it was some of the best I 've had in years and years. The batter was so flavorful and portion sizes very fair. We also tried the chicken parm- outstanding. My step-daughter ordered a meatball pizza and it was very well made. Again, full of flavor. Give them a try and be sure to dine in.
I've been coming here for 30 years. The menu hasn't really changed and in many ways neither has the prices. No matter what, I always have good service and wonderful food. Try the house dressing! You'll love it.
My experience at Green Onion Pizza Restaurant in Lisbon, CT, warrants a three-star review, reflecting a somewhat mixed sentiment. The pizza, while above average, seems to vary depending on the type you choose. Certain pizza varieties at Green Onion stood out, delivering a satisfying and flavorful experience. However, the inconsistency across different options left me with a sense of uncertainty about the overall quality of their offerings. The restaurant ambiance is straightforward and casual, providing a comfortable setting for a quick meal. The service was decent, meeting the basic expectations for a pizza joint. Green Onion's strength lies in its above-average pizza, but it seems the level of enjoyment hinges on the specific choice you make from their menu. While some options may leave you impressed, others might fall short. In summary, Green Onion Pizza Restaurant offers a decent pizza experience, but the inconsistency in quality across different varieties prevents me from giving it a higher rating. It's a suitable spot for a casual pizza craving, but the search for pizza perfection might require exploring other options.
I did it, finally found one of the last great mom pop pizza restaurants. Just a few miles off of 395. Walking in was taken back , transported if you will to my boyhood memories of going out on Friday night with my parents for pizza. You smell the freshness and pizza in the air. Fresh toppings a wonderful and delicious crust with a sweet red sauce. Cook to perfection. To the owners, please please don't ever sell out to the big boys, stay local and stay awesome. Thanks
So this place is sometimes good. I have gone a handful of times. I think it's really weird that they have a side of pasta and sauce with dishes. Usually it's a salad and bread at most places. The last time I went I got the ravioli it was good. My bf ordered chicken parm and got a plate full of chicken with no pasta under it but got a side of shells it was very weird. He didn't like the way it tasted and ended up feeling sick afterwards. I've had grinders here and they were good. So it's a hit or miss sometimes it's good sometimes not.
