They offer a variety of classic dishes like pork sisig, Kare-Kare, crispy pata, and lechon, and everything we tried was excellent. The yellow rice was flavorful, but the garlic rice was the standout for me. The restaurant is situated in a vibrant Filipino neighborhood, so it’s a great area to explore and discover other ethnic shops nearby. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to visit!
The first time here. it was amazing. the food was fresh and tasty, and the service was excellent. in any case would come back. parking: parking was a bit terrible, but when we found a place it was playing on.
The food here is amazing! On my first visit, I opted for takeout and got to try their pancit palabok, which came with a generous amount of sauce—always a plus! Their mango ice cream dessert was fantastic as well; it was perfectly frozen, making it a refreshing treat for a hot summer day. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant in the future!
The best Kare-Kare in New Jersey can be found in Jayhan’s grill. There is no contest to it. Their version of Kare-Kare is a contrast of texture and flavors. You have the crispy pork belly, the soft, succulent ox tail and the creamy peanut butter sauce. All of these combined made the best Kare-Kare out there.Jayhan’s also serve your classic Filipino street food fanfare or instestines and kwek-kwek. The pièce de ré·sis·tance (yes, I googled that) was their spiced suka (dipping sauce made of vinegar). You can slurp this suka down your throat without any regrets.When you are in Jersey City, come and support this local joint. They are simply the best Filipino comfort food you can have in this part of New Jersey.
Good Filipino restaurant in Jersey City. Tried a few dishes and found the Crispy Kare-Kare to be my favorite. The sauce tasted just right and the crispy pork pieces complemented the sauce very well. The bangus steak was very good as well. Fish tasted fresh and it was deboned very well, didn't have to fuss with spitting out bones. Inihaw Na Mamok was my least favorite. The chicken was charred on the outside and it seemed the chicken near the bone was slightly undercooked. Also the yellow rice was very bland. I suggest to order the garlic rice if you looking for a more wholesome flavored rice. Will definitely try the pork sisig next time too. Parking is tough in this area. Might need to drive around a bit to find it. FYI.
