The waitress said it was because the restaurant wants to pay a living wage. That's great, but why put that on the customers who are already asked to leave a tip? I love when folks think different but this was confusing or perhaps the explanation was deficient.
Overall, had a fine dining experience here but felt that the dishes were overpriced and I’m not sure how you screw up rice so bad that it’s inedible; it was super oily and tasted overwhelmingly like peas. My husband and I could not eat the rice. Also, I’m all for restaurants adding in gratuity to ensure their servers are paid a living wage and to also provide a more seamless experience for customers at checkout. However, calling this an 18% service fee that pays front and back of house and then feeling pressure to add an additional tip for our waitress when she dropped off the check added unnecessary confusion and guilt-tripping. There was also a fully saturated wet napkin on my husband’s entree plate that served no purpose.
We only had a dinner here after the conclusion of my friend... the food is good and served fast... the waitress was really professional and friendly...
Fantastic restaurant. Even on a Saturday evening you will probably have no problem getting a place. Wide range of tacos. All I had was delicious, and the margaritas are great. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere inside is comfortable. Some exterior seats are available.
Really great Mexican cuisine in Ithaca! Loved all their delicious homemade salsas and Guac. Enchiladas were hot, cheesy, crispy and tasty. Service was excellent. The automatic 18% piece at the end is a little disgusting, especially when they say you can tap more and you need to do it before them. I always type 20% for a good meal, but others on my table did not like politics. I think they could do without them.
