Chengdu Laozao Hotpot - Irvine

There aren't many authentic Chinese hotpot places in Orange County, which is why we usually make the trek to LA for a flavorful experience. I'm thrilled to say that we now have a fantastic new option. We recently visited and tried the golden chicken soup, which was absolutely delicious. The ingredients were fresh, and the atmosphere was lovely. They also have a variety of snacks available at the self-service station.

This is the best Chinese hotpot restaurant in Irvine. You can order food directly from your phone, which goes straight to the kitchen. There are even robots that bring the food to you, which is really charming! The sauce and appetizer bar offers a wide variety of options. The service is friendly and excellent, and the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend it!

Absolutely delicious! The food is served piping hot, and there are seating options both indoors and outdoors. Everything—meats and vegetables—tastes incredibly fresh.

Eat good quality and decently large portions for the cost. we were satisfied with our experience here as party of four. I like her outside.

The snack and sauce bar is self serve, the food is ordered through a web app and contact with staff is minimal. You can expect good quality and good sized portions for the price. However, it would not be the cheapest hot pot place in Irvine, do expect a two person meal to run over 60 or 70. Their broth choices are exception and the dish variety is wide. Definitely a must try.
