La Belle et La Boeuf - St-Bruno - Hurst

La Marea was a pleasant surprise. We occasionally visit the area and the restaurants are usually just okay. La Marea, however, impressed us with its delicious food and inviting atmosphere. Coming from Westchester where there are plenty of dining options, La Marea definitely stands out. We can't praise it enough and highly recommend trying it for yourself.

The food at this restaurant was excellent. I particularly enjoyed the mozzarella and tomato salad, which was the best I've ever had. The shrimp and scallops over polenta was a delightful and unique combination of flavors. The menu offered a wide variety of options, and the service was exceptional.

I have visited this restaurant a few times before, but this time I was a bit disappointed. The braesola starter, which I usually enjoy, was lacking mushrooms. The mushrooms that were included were just ordinary, not the wonderful wild mushrooms they have had in the past. I was surprised. The pasta was overly salty and dry. The fried calamari and prawns were also too salty. Despite this, the quality of the ingredients used in the dishes is excellent. In their defense, we visited right after the holiday weekend, so maybe things were a bit off. This experience won't deter us from returning in the hopes that it was just a one-time issue rather than the usual standard.
