The hot chocolate is wonderful! The setting is great. The service is excellent and friendly. It's the perfect way to end a day of skating on the Ice Trail.
The food at this restaurant is wonderful, and they offer gluten free options for my wife. She tried the gluten free French toast and said it was one of the best she's ever had, even though it's not listed on the menu.
We were on our way to Algonquin Park and stopped here for a light bite to eat. It was right off of the highway and there were amenities less than a minute drive away for groceries and more. I had the BLT and it was one of the best that I have had. The toast and bacon were fresh, there was the perfect amount of mayo, and it was just perfect. It came in a timely fashion and the service was really good. I would definitely come back here in the future, it was such a cute place with a homey feel.
I've experienced bad customer service but this one takes the cake! The Coffee Cabin was suggested as a good breakfast place. When we walked in the staff completely ignored us. We waited patiently for direction.. please seat yourself (as there were tables available) or I'll be with you shortly but we got nothing. The woman behind the counter didn't acknowledged us although she was literally across the counter from us. A guest who had received their food came to the counter to remind the staff that there were waiting for another meal that had been ordered. The staff made the guest (a woman) feel like it was her fault that the meal wasn't ordered or such. We left at this point. I was appalled at the lack of service & common courtesies.
