Although the park itself is quite deserted, it is just a 15 minute drive from Hudson, Ohio, a charming and historic suburb (Cleveland is about 35 miles away). So with charming and historic come many worthy food options.
Great place, food is consistently good. Service is exceptional, but since most restaurants in the area are missing the WOW factor
A really nice culinary experience. I was in Downtown 140 probably 10 times in recent years, while it was under previous ownership and under current property. I was late at night, early at night, weekends and weekdays. The owner (Andy) and his bar manager (Sara) always seem to be inclined to the place, a practice that I have found almost always as essential for a well-run and successful restaurant that Diners has always come back. My guests and I have always enjoyed the experience, even my hoighty toighty sister in the law of Connecticut. For beginners I usually order a Grey Goose martini, upstairs, with blue cheese olives and no Vermouth. This is served in a large martini glass (5 inch diameter on the rim) and filled to flood, which is a great value of any standard. For a change of pace, I had the Grapefruit Martini and some of their other specialty martinis all delicious thirst quenching and slightly anesthetic to the cheeks. I don't eat oysters, but my friends who have shaved over the oysters; My ex-wife even once placed a second order for the Oysters Rockefeller, maybe as I bought to come with me myself because I was such a convoy during our marriage. I had the Croque Monsiuer, Devil on Horseback, and Pigs belly, all delicious. From salmon and scalop specialities to lamb osso bucco, participants are carefully prepared by experts in the kitchen and presented creatively and artistically. I have not found that the participants are too small as some of the other reviewers, but then I have a BMI of under 25 and perhaps not so inclined to judge a meal according to its volume. Or perhaps, the 200 calories I took from the 3 ounces of vodka in the Martini suppressed my appetite. I don't usually eat desserts so I can't comment on it. A few final remarks Andy is always friendly and attentive, without being somewhat overlaid, makes you feel good that you have come. On weekends I always go early, shortly after the restaurant opens for dinner, and never had a problem sitting and served in a way that allows the leisure consumption of food and drinks. The servers are professional, know what they serve, and give only the appropriate amount of attention. This is a restaurant that will not immediately take away your dish after you have finished your meal, although others at the table are not finished an unacceptable unacceptable unacceptable unacceptable gesture that I have experienced in other fine restaurants where the waiting staff was inadequately trained. In short, I love everything about this place!
I had an excellent meal with my mother on Mother's Day. The food was spectacular. The atmosphere was beyond pleasant. Our server, a funny young man, was quite helpful in understanding the menu. We will be returning.
Wonderful food, great service and cozy feel. Really enjoyed my night here.
